Born in 1945 in Lyon. Starts taking pictures during his military service. In the early 1970s, discovers the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson, which has a profound effect on him. First visits Tokyo in 1984 for an intensive kendo course, then works in Asia from 1988 to 2004. His camera never leaves him. He takes most of his pictures while walking, hardly makes any prints, just
develops his black and white films over time. He only “discovers” his photos, those of Japan, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam but also of Europe (France, Scotland and Ireland) when he returns to Europe. Now retired, he has undertaken to scan his negatives.
